Module 2 IN PROGRESS
This demonstrates some of the different possible scenarios you'll see within Bootcamp; Gold, Pass and Fail grades, submitted / re-submitted statuses and what you see before submitting.
ok
Exercise 01
Now let's isolate the root (A) and 4th (D) for all five shapes. As you've already seen in Module 1, the number of target notes varies from shape to shape. Sometimes you can play three roots, sometimes two.

Get a module pass first
In order to go for Gold on this exercise, you need to Pass the module first.
Revisit any Failed exercises and Pass them, then come back and Go for Gold.
Exercise 02
The last interval is the 5th (E) and this exercises isolates the roots and adjacent 5ths for each shape. That completes the picture, so now would be a good time to go back to Module 1, Exercise 1 and play through the full shapes, identifying the scale degree or interval for each note... A is the root, C is the minor 3rd, D is the 4th, E is the 5th and G is the minor 7th. The power of these notes lies in their relationship (interval) with the root.

Nice job here, you have clearly understood the exercise and now you know where the 5th is in each shape. For this you have passed the exercise, but if you want to go for gold you need to be more accurate on your timing.. try to play each note perfectly on the beat. I am sure you can! Try again and nail this aspect of the exercise and you will get a gold!
Exercise 03
Now we'll build a little lick and find it in all five scale shapes. This one uses root, minor 7th, 4th and minor 3rd. This kind of thing is great for your fretboard knowledge. Even the shape of two notes (A to G, for example) will be different, depending on where you play it.

Unfortunately this is not quite right. On the first shape you must play the root note followed by the 5th and then the other notes of the lick. On this submission you played the 4th note after the Root. The notes on the other shapes are played correctly but also try to define the notes throughout a little more clearly.
So to get a pass or gold concentrate on these areas:
- Correct notes on shape 1
- Clear definition of each note in all shapes
Exercise 04
Exercise 05
With our full set of minor pentatonic notes, this first lick is mostly based on Shape 1, but also has notes in Shape 2 and Shape 5.
Lick 01
This lick is based around what we practised in Exercise 5... the root, minor 3rd and minor 7th. It moves from Shape 1 to Shape 2, and then briefly down to Shape 5 (just for that C note on the 5th string).
Lick 02
Again, isolating those three notes from Exercise 5, but this time we start in Shape 5 and move up to Shape 1 and Shape 2. Try bending those C notes SLIGHTLY for a bluesy sound. Even though you're pushing it towards C# (the major 3rd) it'll still sound cool in the key of A minor.

This is perfectly played. You covered the exercise with real precision! You got all the intervals between roots and 4th on the fretboard. Each note is well defined and sits perfectly on the beat! Great job, congratulations, gold for you!
